Course Description This course covers U.S. history topics from the 1500s-1850 as well as key events in world history. It is divided into six units: New World, Western Europe, Asia and Eastern Europe, American Revolution, Age of Napoleon, and Rebellion and Repression. Geography assignments reinforce the history lessons. The required BiblioPlan curriculum (Year 3) includes the two-volume Companion Textbook, Cool History for Advanced workbook, and Hands-on Map for Advanced workbook.  Students successfully completing the course will earn 1.0 credit for history and 0.5 credit for geography.  Expected homework time is 3-4 hours per week.

Course Description We will go "further up and further in" as we study the last four novels of "The Chronicles of Narnia." While the Narnia 1 is not a prerequisite for the Narnia 2 class, priority will be given to Narnia 1 students. Students will review basic IEW writing skills and learn more advanced skills. Students will have a written assignment every week. We will also study literary concepts and analysis. Eighth- and ninth-grade students may earn a high school credit (1.0) and may have a few extra assignments. Expect to spend 2 to 4 hours a week on homework.
