Course Description | In this second course, students will be introduced to more great artists and will work more independently. Using Charlotte Mason methods for Picture Study, students will learn about famous artists through biographies and pictures of their works, which will springboard writing ideas. Giotto, Leonardo daVinci, Thomas Gainsborough, and Vincent Van Gogh, will be the focused artists. Utilizing IEW’s Structure and Style Unit 5, students will learn to create a key word outline, write with style from the outline, and edit their work using a composition checklist. Students will need to be able to copy work from the board as well as write independently. Published stories will be collected into a keepsake folder book at the end of the year.
