This class will only meet first semester. Need accountability for your student to read their Bible? Want to know who God is? If you’re like me it’s our desire for our kiddos to Know God and then to Serve Him. Sometimes Bible reading can be put on the back burner, but in reality it should be our number one priority. I need accountability and my own kiddos need it too. “This class will walks readers through a one-year chronological Bible reading plan and explains each day's passage in an easy-to-understand way. The recaps are simple and short yet deep enough to help you understand the hard parts and press into knowing God better. The Bible Recap will not only help you understand the entire narrative of the Bible, it will fortify your faith.” At home four days a week the student will read assigned chapters (approximately 3-4 a day), read the Bible Recap for that day and if they have access listen to the episode on the Bible Recap app (free) while reading along w that Recap, and take short notes/questions of nuggets learned about God’s character or interesting facts from each days reading. During class time we will discuss reading nuggets and students will share findings. Required textbooks:
Homework time expected: 3-4 hours per week *This is a class where the students will need to stay on track with reading. If they don’t read it they won’t understand class time. |

Course Description |
When Science Fair is broken down into small chunks the process doesn’t seem as daunting and learning the skill of presentation can be fun! Semester one: Learn and complete the steps of the scientific method for the Research Plan/Paper for the Science Fair demonstration in January. In class we will discuss each step and then PARENTS will complete WITH THEIR STUDENTS A WEEKLY assignment to keep you/them accountable and on track for science fair. Each week students will bring in assignment for class discussion. Examples: List your research problem, hypothesis, procedure, etc. At home YOU will help your student gather research, complete experiment (sometimes over winter break), make a board for presentation, and possibly for the older student type up the research paper.
Semester two: Wrap up Science Fair with January Science Fair event and then start in on some fun hands-on science experiments discussing the scientific method. If you don’t want homework this class is not for you. The reason behind the weekly assignments is to keep you on track for Science Fair Night in January. If your child has already taken this class, we will be doing the same experiments. If you want to do just the Science Fair Night, which includes me sending weekly helps and not attending class that is an option. Sign up is $50, I will send you weekly prompts and you will send me your responses then I will give tips/helps and send them back to you to keep you on track for January Science Fair. Please email me separately for this option. |
